Deterministic Telemetry

Also: deterministic telemetry

Definition

Verbatim from FedRAMP/rules

Verifiable data collected directly from an authoritative source that represents a factual and reproducible observation of the attributes of a system such as the system's state, configuration, or behavior.

Notes

  • Probabilistic inferences, generative outputs, or predictive assessments such as those produced using generative transformer models (commonly referred to as “Generative AI”) do not constitute a factual record of the system state and must not be used to generate deterministic telemetry.

Change history

  • 2026-06-24Official launch of the FedRAMP Consolidated Rules for 2026.
